Terms of service

The terms that govern your use of FBC Ghana's services and member portal.

Last updated: June 2026

1. Membership

Membership in FBC Ghana is open to natural persons who meet our eligibility criteria, complete the application process, and are approved by the board or its delegate. Membership is governed by our bye-laws as adopted by the General Meeting.

2. Services

We offer savings accounts, fixed-deposit products, loan products, mobile-money services, and other financial services as defined in our bye-laws and product catalogues. Terms specific to each product (interest rates, fees, lock periods, penalties) are published with the product and may be revised by the board.

3. Member responsibilities

Members agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information at sign-up and keep it current
  • Safeguard their login credentials and not share them with others
  • Use the member portal and our services for lawful purposes only
  • Repay loans on the agreed schedule
  • Report suspected unauthorised access to their account immediately

4. Fees and charges

Account maintenance fees, loan processing fees, insurance fees, and other charges are published with each product. We may revise fees with reasonable notice via the news section and at the AGM.

5. Limitation of liability

We provide services with reasonable care but make no warranty that the member portal will be available without interruption. We are not liable for losses arising from circumstances outside our reasonable control (network outages, force majeure, third-party provider failures), nor for losses arising from a member's failure to safeguard their credentials.

6. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate a member's account for breach of these terms, suspected fraud, or as required by regulatory authority. Members may close their account at any time via the closure request flow; outstanding balances must be settled first.

7. Disputes

Disputes between a member and FBC Ghana are first addressed informally through the supervisory committee. Unresolved disputes are subject to arbitration under the framework that governs cooperatives in our jurisdiction.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our services or the regulatory environment evolves. Material changes are announced at least 30 days in advance and require member acknowledgement on next login.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which FBC Ghana is incorporated, and by the cooperative regulatory framework that applies to our category of institution.

Note for FBC operators: This is a standard cooperative-banking template. Please have it reviewed by your legal counsel and adapted to match your bye-laws + actual regulatory references before publishing. Edit it in Admin → Website Content → Terms of Service.
